Gilead UK and Ireland 2024 Invasive Fungal Disease Fellowship and Medical Grants Programme is now open
The Gilead Fellowship and Medical Grants Programme supports projects and initiatives focused on improving the diagnosis and management of Invasive Fungal Disease (IFD). For the 2024 programme, Gilead would especially encourage applications for audit, surveillance, antifungal stewardship, best practice sharing or registry projects which aim to assess the below criteria. Please note, projects which meet the aims of the priority criteria will receive a higher weighting during the application review process.
- Priority: The incidence and clinical impact of antifungal resistance in patients with IFD
- The impact of socio-economic status on the incidence and outcomes of IFD
- The impact of drug-drug interactions on the management of IFD
- Novel approaches to aid the diagnosis and/or management of IFD, including the use of artificial intelligence
- The incidence and/or outcomes of IFD in patients with a viral respiratory co-infection, e.g., influenza, COVID–19
- The changing epidemiology and incidence of IFD – new patient cohorts
Ideally, the above criteria should be looked at in association with patient outcomes.
Please note, projects which meet the aims of the priority criteria will receive a higher weighting during the application review process.
If you have a project which will add clinical value or which investigates an area of unmet need within mycology and doesn’t fall under the above criteria, you may still apply. Please be advised that only health-related organisations are eligible to receive grants through this application process. We regret that individual applicants are not considered for grants. Applications from charities or patient advocacy groups supporting those living with IFD are also welcome.
More detail on the Gilead Fellowship and Medical Grants Programme in IFD can be found on their website here.
The Gilead Fellowship and Medical Grants Programme is a competitive grants process. Submission of an application does not guarantee funding.
Please note, the application window will close on Friday 10th May 2024.
